R

Embargo Sans borrows from 19th century jobbing faces a slight contrast, which helps keep an even color despite the heavy weight.

In the spirit of the ornamental ink traps of Bell Centennial and others, Embargo Sans has ornamental ink spread.

L’AURORE

The original lettering job was inspired by the flag of L’Aurore, an 1890’s French socialist paper. Embargo Sans largely mimics its metrics with a more modern construction and lower contrast.
